Tales From A Wedding Day
Tales From A Wedding Day focuses on the 24 hours of the wedding day of bride Sam Patterson and is told through the eyes of Abbie Vincent who is best friend and chief bridesmaid. Through Abbie we learn all about the dramas that can go possibly go wrong on the big day and we encounter various members of the eccentric Patterson family.
The light hearted, humorous and yet touching story is a subject that will strike a chord with anyone that has a friend or family member that is getting married and will be a must own gift for any bridesmaid or bride to be!
This is the second book from Olivia Ryan to be themed around a wedding. Her first novel published last year, Tales From A Hen Weekend told the hilarious antics about a completely different set of characters and what they got up to in Dublin. Olivia’s third novel has a honeymoon theme and will be published next year.
Olivia recognises that a wedding is a huge occasion for most women and this is the reason for basing all of her books around the topic. “Everything surrounding a wedding – from the hen weekend, to the actual wedding day and finally the honeymoon – lends itself perfectly to the type of story I like writing: a combination of light-hearted humour, emotional drama involving families and friends, and of course, a little bit of romance! Also, I think virtually every woman can relate to these themes,” she explains.
"The story of Tales From A Wedding Day takes place over 24 hours, beginning in the early hours of the wedding day – with a whole set of warm, funny, lovable characters to get to know! Abbie, the chief bridesmaid, is a quiet, caring girl whose friendship with the extrovert Sam is central to her life – but she’s never quite got to grips with Sam’s crazy family. There’s plenty of humour, but also some very tender and poignant moments during the course of the day."
