Royal Wedding Date Set

Royal Wedding Date Set

Being huge fans of weddings, and also very proud of our Royal Family (especially William), we were delighted yesterday when the news was announced that the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton has been set for Friday 29th April 2011 at Westminster Abbey.

Our main disappointment with all the plans so far is that the happy couple didn’t opt for an Essex Wedding, we did suggest it to them, but our idea was overlooked, presumably only for security reasons.

It was also announced that we get to celebrate with them, as it has been declared a national public holiday, meaning we not only get a 4 day weekend for Easter, we then get another one the weekend after. How exciting !? Lets hope the weather is good enough for a BBQ or street party.

There are of course be some brides who have already booked their wedding for 29th April 2011, and being nosey wedding enthusiasts, we caught up with two Essex couples who are sharing their special day with William and Kate.

Michael Fragnito, 29, and Sarah Norrington, 27, will wed in Chelmsford on Friday 29th April 2011, Michael said “I took Sarah to Rome to propose. Unlike Kate she got a new ring! We picked a Friday wedding for budgeting reasons mainly. It was less expensive than a Saturday and our budget is nowhere near the millions they have. We’re hoping to do everything for £20,000.”

Also, Dean Hitchcock and Joanne Monk, both 28, will say “I do” in front of 120 guests near Billericay. Banker Dean said “It is like they’ve stolen our day. But I’m sure on the day we won’t notice because we’ll be so wrapped up in our own celebrations. My parents got married tin the same year as Charles and Diana, so perhaps it’s fate”.
We hope your parents marriage was more successful then that of Prince Charles and Lady Di !

Whatever you plan to do with your extra day off on 29th April 2011, make sure you enjoy it and celebrate. If you’re planning something special to help the Royal Wedding become the country’s biggest party, then let us know below.
