Classy Wedding Dress of the year
First things first, can we make it clear that this photo has nothing to do with an Essex Wedding !
(we hope)
What we’d really like to know is which of the bride’s friends or family went along to the bridal shop with her to help choose the dress !
As delighted as we are to share this wedding dress with you today, we’d like to know if you’ve seen any better (or worse).

Wedding planning ideas
For ages now we’ve been thinking about adding a wedding planning guide to the website, we’ve seen these on quite a few other sites and we’re pretty sure we can make a better one.
The idea is that we’ll start it off on the blog, and add to it as we go along. Then once we’re really happy with it and think it may actually be of some use to an engaged couple we’ll promote it to the main website.
So for now, here’s phase 1 of the wedding planner, feel free to leave comments and let us know if you think we’ve missed anything out !
Hire a Chocolate Fountain for your wedding
Most of today’s bride and groom endevour to make their wedding day not just a day to remember for themselves, but also a very memorable day for all their wedding guests too.
There are many different ways that you can make your wedding extra special, and we’ll be looking at other entertainment ideas in the coming weeks, but today we thought we’d discuss the chocolate fountain hire.
On the face of it, a beautiful bride standing beside pouring melted chocolate in her white dress probably isn’t the best idea in the world, but quality fountains don’t make a mess and their trained staff ensure that the chocolate is pouring perfectly.
Disposable cameras at your wedding ? Why not go digital ?
We’ve all been to weddings where the bride and groom have bought a disposable camera and placed one on every table for the wedding guests to snap away capturing the wonderful day through the eyes of different people.
It’s a fantastic idea, but is usually ruined by very poor end results.
This is because disposable cameras get treated as disposable cameras, and you’re often left with really poor quality images that end up as disposable photographs.
It’s a real shame, as who better to capture all the memories and fun with candid shots of the wedding reception from the people who matter the most, all your friends and family. And there really is no better way to remember your day then to have photographs taken from all corners and all angles of the wedding reception.
Quick wedding tip number 2
Take the time to find out who “the guest” is when addressing the wedding invitations. If you are inviting a friend who has been dating someone for a significant length of time, address the invitation to “Miss Anne Porter and Mr. James Valerio” rather than Miss Anne Porter and guest. The personal touch will be appreciated. If the friend isn’t involved in a serious or long-term relationship, “and guest” is fine.

Wedding Videos – Part 3
This weekend’s wonderful world of wacky wedding video clips made us chuckle in the office.
4 clips strung together in a kind of “you’ve been framed” style. Our particular favourite is the 3rd clip, we love the way that the women go into hysterics and ruin the whole thing that little bit more for the poor unfortunate bride and groom !
We think the priest in the first clip made his “error” on purpose for a little enjoyment, let us know if you agree.
Take a look for yourself, press play below and hope that none of these things occur on your wedding day !
The Best Man's Responsibilities
The role of the best man is very important when it comes to making a success of the wedding day. Most people just think of the dreaded speech they have to make, but whether the wedding is a formal or informal affair, there is more to the best man role then just his speech.
If you’ve just been asked by a mate to be his best man on his wedding day, take it as one of the biggest compliments you can receive, because it really is an honour to be chosen.
Ask the groom to be, what he expects from you when it comes to your responsibilities. Also ask him who else is involved in the wedding party, you may not know the parents, bridesmaids or ushers before the event, so it may be a good idea to meet anyone you’ve not met before the big day.
Hire a Wedding Toastmaster
Toastmasters can add a little extra “pomp” to your wedding day whether you’re planning a very formal occasion or not.
Proposing a “toast” at large celebrations, dates back as far as the 17th Century and a toastmaster (or MC for Master of Ceremonies) has played a large part in social events for centuries since.
There are a great deal of benefits for the bride and groom to have a toastmaster at the wedding. Not only does a professional toastmaster look fantastic in their ceremonial outfit, normally consisting of a red tail-coat, which instantly adds splendor to any wedding.
