Why get married on a Saturday ?

Probably the main reason behind this change is that wedding venues and other wedding services charge a lower rate for weekdays rather then the traditional Saturday wedding day. With the credit crunch going on at the moment this seems like a good option for brides and grooms to take, after all, if your nearest and dearest can’t make time for your wedding on a Friday, then should they be invited in the first place?

Quick wedding tip number 1

If you have always dreamed of being married in your mother’s wedding dress but it simply doesn’t  fit, what about wearing her veil ?  Take the veil with you and see if you can find a dress that  will compliment the style.  Don’t worry as much about the colour – you can always get the dress dyed to match.

This week’s weird wedding wonder comes from some mentalist groom who clearly thinks he has the X factor.

In the words of Simon Cowell – “that was just like cabaret”

Wedding insurance – what you need to know

A lot of engaged couples think that wedding insurance is only for those who may get cold feet, actually this statement couldn’t be any further from the truth. Logically, what insurance company will pay out if you just say to them “actually we don’t want to do that anymore!” – answer is none.

Let’s put it another way, weddings cost a fortune. The average cost of a wedding is more then the average value of the contents of your home, and yet while most people decide to insure the contents of their home, a great deal of engaged couples decide against the security of wedding insurance.

Wedding favours – more then just sugared almonds

Wedding favours are those little trinkets that all the wedding guests receive, normally left at their place settings, during the meal. They are a keepsake of the day, a memory of the wedding for the guests to take home, traditionally left for the female guests, but now the guys seem to get them too.

Why are they called wedding favours …..? We don’t actually know, maybe you could leave comments below if you know the reason and educate us a little.
